For those

not
picked up their First Holy Communion Pictures/DVDs and
Confirmation DVDs, you may pick them up at the Parish Office, Religious
Education Department during office hours.

Religious Education Classes start the
week of August 16th:
Monday classes start August 16th @ 3-4 p.m. in the
Small Hall. Tuesday classes start August 17th @ 4-5 p.m. in the Large
Hall. Wednesday classes start August 18th @ 4-5 p.m. in the Large
Hall. Thursday classes start August 19th @ 4-5 p.m. in the Large
Hall. Saturday classes start August 21st @ 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the
School.

Religious Education Information
Adult
Education Requirement
At the
time of registration, the required Adult Education classes should have
been explained to you.
Parents are to have completed 40 hours of Adult Education prior to their
child’s scheduled First Communion.
If you did not receive this information or did not register for
this year’s session, please contact the Religious Education Office so
that the necessary forms can be filled out.
Those of you who have completed the 40 hours for a previous child need
not take the classes again.
For
parents attending first year of Adult Religious Education: There will be
two orientation meetings in the Large Hall.
You must attend one of them:
Saturday, August 28th @ 9:30 a.m. or Wednesday, September 1st @
6:30 p.m.
English
Adult Religious Education begins the week of September 20th in Ministry
Center, Room #2.
Domestic Church (2nd year Holy Communion):
For Parents of children in 2nd year of Reconciliation and Holy Communion
Preparation,
the
first mandatory meeting will be on:
Tuesday, September 14th
English @ 6:30 p.m. at St. Bernard’s
Church
Wednesday, September 15th
Spanish @ 6:30 p.m. at St. Bernard’s

. . . is a process that enables the parents to
be the primary educators of their children as they
prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
This is a two-year
process. A student must be at least in 3rd grade to receive the
Sacrament of Holy Communion. The parents are required to complete 40 hours (20 per year)
of Adult Religious Education. The 40 hours must be completed
before the child can begin their final year of preparation.
