Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)
Youth Sports Ministry
Welcome to St. Bernard's CYO Ministry 2026-27 Season!
We are excited to offer a faith-filled sports program where children can grow as athletes, teammates, and disciples of Christ. Whether your child is participating for the first time or returning for another season, we look forward to welcoming your family to our CYO community.

About our Ministry
The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is a youth ministry of St. Bernard's Parish and the Diocese of Stockton dedicated to providing organized athletic opportunities for youth in a Catholic environment. Rooted in faith and community, CYO uses the power of sports to nurture the whole child - mind, body, and spirit.
Our Mission
Through sports, CYO strives to give youth the opportunity to practice Christian attitudes and responsibilities while building lasting friendships with children throughout the Diocese. We believe that athletics, when grounded in faith, can shape young people into compassionate leaders and devoted members of their community.
Our Philosophy
Winning is important, but our highest priority is helping young athletes grow in faith, character, teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others. Every practice and game is an opportunity to live our Catholic values on and off the field.

Practice Information
Practices are typically held twice a week at the St. Bernard Parish Gym. Teams generally practice Tuesday through Friday between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., based on gym availability. Practice days and times are determined after teams are formed and coaches have been assigned.
Become a Coach
Make a lasting impact in the lives of our youth by becoming a CYO coach! We are always looking for dedicated volunteers who are passionate about helping young athletes grow in faith, character, teamwork, and athletic skills.
Cross Country and Girls Basketball Coaches Needed
The CYO is seeking enthusiastic adult leaders to coach Cross Country and Girls Basketball teams across multiple grade levels. If you love working with youth and have the energy and passion to inspire young athletes, we’d love to hear from you!
All coaches, assistant coaches, parents, and other volunteers assisting at practices must be approved by the Parish Athletic Director before participating in any team activities."
Parent Volunteer
CYO is a volunteer-driven ministry, and the success of our programs depends on the support of our families. Parents may be asked to assist with snack bar, gym setup and cleanup, line judge, scorekeeping or other volunteer opportunities throughout the season.
Each family must volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours per season.
